Welcome, I’m truly glad you’re here.

My Healing was shaped through both professional study and lived experience.

Long before it had a name, I was learning about survival, adaptation, and the ways people learn to protect themselves when safety, truth, or emotional security are inconsistent.

My early life taught me about silence, vigilance, and self-reliance. As I moved through adulthood -becoming a partner, a mother, a caregiver, and a professional – I carried these patterns forward, often giving more than I had and losing sight of my own needs in the process.

Over time, experiences of betrayal, loss, and profound stress brought me to a breaking point. It became clear that survival alone was no longer enough. I needed to understand why certain patterns endured, and how genuine healing could take place at a deeper level.

From Survival to Understanding

That turning point led me into focused study of trauma, psychology, and integrative approaches to healing. I came to understand that betrayal trauma is unique – it disrupts trust, identity, and the nervous system in ways that are often misunderstood or minimised.

Through my training with the Post Betrayal Transformation® framework, developed by Debi Silber, I learned that healing unfolds in stages – from shock and survival, through grief and rebuilding, into integration and growth.

This framework continues to inform how I think about recovery: not as “moving on,” but as reclaiming clarity, self-trust, and agency.

An Integrated, Ethical Approach

My work brings together psychological understanding with gentle, trauma-aware methods. I am particularly interested in how betrayal, chronic stress, and emotional overwhelm affect the nervous system, identity, and patterns of belief.

Alongside my academic study in the Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing, I draw on complementary approaches including the Emotion Code®, Body Code®, and Belief Code® developed by Bradley Nelson, as well as hypnotherapy- and EMDR-informed work — always within a paced, consent-led, and ethical framework.

My focus is not on quick fixes, but on supporting understanding, regulation, and gradual change that feels safe and sustainable.

The Intention Behind My Healing

This space is for people who have carried a great deal quietly — often appearing capable and resilient on the outside, while feeling exhausted or disconnected underneath.

My Healing is grounded in compassion, clarity, and respect for each individual’s pace. It is a place where reflection, learning, and gentle guidance come together — without pressure to perform healing or minimise pain.

Transformation, in my experience, is not about revenge, blame, or erasing the past. It is about reclaiming self-respect, understanding our patterns, and choosing a way forward that aligns with who we truly are.

An Invitation

My Healing Insights is a space for thoughtful reflection, research-informed discussion, and shared understanding. I hope what’s explored here offers steadiness, perspective, and reassurance that meaningful change is possible.

Healing does not require forgetting what happened.
It requires understanding, boundaries, and trust in yourself.

Supporting emotional awareness, regulation, and change

Have you ever noticed that certain emotions, reactions, or patterns seem to repeat, even when you consciously want things to change? Many people carry emotional responses shaped by past experiences, and these can continue to influence how we think, feel, and respond long after the original situation has passed.

The Emotion Code®, Body Code™, and Belief Code® are gentle, holistic approaches that focus on bringing awareness to emotional and belief-based patterns held below conscious awareness, and supporting the body and mind in letting go of what is no longer serving you.

Emotional experiences and the body

Emotions are not just thoughts, they are felt experiences. When emotions are overwhelming or unsupported at the time they occur, they may not be fully processed. Instead, they can continue to influence the nervous system, shaping stress responses, emotional reactions, and patterns of behaviour.

People often describe this as feeling:

emotionally “stuck” or reactive

repeatedly drawn into the same relationship patterns

tense, fatigued, or disconnected from their body

unable to move on from certain memories or beliefs

Rather than something being “wrong”, these experiences are often signs that the body and nervous system learned ways to protect you, even if those strategies are no longer helpful.

How these approaches work

Developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson, the Emotion Code®, Body Code™, and Belief Code® work with the subconscious mind, where emotional memories, learned beliefs, and automatic responses are stored.

In sessions, we gently explore:

emotional patterns linked to past experiences

beliefs that may be limiting your sense of safety, worth, or possibility

how your body responds to stress and emotional triggers

The focus is not on reliving painful memories or analysing the past in detail, but on supporting awareness and allowing the nervous system to update old responses.

Many people describe feeling lighter, calmer, or more grounded afterwards. Others notice gradual changes in how they relate to emotions, stress, physical sensations, or long-standing patterns over time.

A grounded and ethical approach

In my work, these methods are used as supportive, non-diagnostic approaches. They are not medical treatments or replacements for psychological or healthcare support. Instead, they offer a way to deepen emotional awareness, encourage regulation, and support personal insight and change.

Everyone’s experience is different, and sessions are always guided by what feels safe and appropriate for you.

What to expect from a session

Sessions are calm, collaborative, and tailored to your pace. There is no pressure to “fix” anything or to go deeper than you’re ready for. Many people appreciate that this work is gentle and does not require talking through every detail of past experiences.

Some people notice shifts quickly; for others, change unfolds gradually as awareness builds and emotional capacity increases.

How broken trust can affect safety, identity, and relationships

Betrayal can be profoundly destabilising. When trust is broken by someone we rely on – a partner, parent, family member, or close friend – the impact often goes far beyond the event itself. Many people describe feeling as though their sense of safety, identity, and understanding of relationships has been shaken.

This experience is commonly referred to as betrayal trauma. Rather than being about a single incident, it reflects the deep emotional and relational impact of broken trust in a significant relationship.

What is betrayal trauma?

Betrayal trauma arises when a relationship that was expected to be safe becomes a source of harm, deception, or emotional injury. Because humans are wired for connection, breaches of trust can be experienced as a threat to emotional safety and belonging.

Examples may include:

Infidelity or repeated dishonesty

Emotional manipulation or gaslighting

Childhood neglect, abuse, or inconsistency

Breaches of confidence or loyalty by someone close

When the person who causes harm is also someone we depend on, the nervous system may struggle to make sense of what has happened. This can lead to confusion, emotional overwhelm, and a feeling of being “stuck”.

Common experiences associated with betrayal trauma

Everyone responds differently, but many people notice patterns such as:

Intense emotional reactions, including sadness, anger, fear, or shame

Heightened alertness or anxiety in relationships

Difficulty trusting others, or doubting their own judgement

Swings between closeness and withdrawal

Feeling numb, disconnected, or unlike themselves

Physical stress responses such as fatigue, poor sleep, or tension

These are protective adaptations developed in response to relational threat, not signs of weakness.

Why betrayal can feel so overwhelming

Trust helps us feel safe in the world. When it is broken, it can affect how we see ourselves, how we relate to others, and what we expect from the future. Many people find themselves questioning:

How did I miss this?

Can I trust my instincts?

Will this happen again?

Healing is not about “getting over it” quickly, but about restoring a sense of internal safety, clarity, and choice.

Supporting recovery after betrayal

Recovery from betrayal is not linear, and it looks different for everyone. A supportive approach often focuses on:

Acknowledging what happened:
Making space for the emotional impact without minimising or rushing it.

Creating emotional and relational safety:
Working at a pace that supports regulation rather than overwhelm.

Rebuilding trust with yourself:
Learning to reconnect with your own boundaries, needs, and inner signals.

Understanding emotional and nervous system responses:
Gently exploring how past experiences may still be shaping reactions in the present.

Moving forward with choice and clarity:
Rather than forcing forgiveness or resolution, allowing insight and stability to develop naturally.

In my work, betrayal recovery is approached as a process of awareness, regulation, and readiness, rather than a single technique or quick fix.

A supportive, non-pathologising approach

This work is not about diagnosing or treating mental health conditions. Instead, it offers structured emotional support and psychoeducation, helping people understand their responses and rebuild a sense of stability and self-trust over time.

Where appropriate, additional therapeutic or clinical support may be recommended.

Moving forward

Betrayal can change how you see the world, but it does not have to define your future. With the right support, it is possible to rebuild emotional safety, strengthen self-trust, and create healthier relationships moving forward.

If you are navigating the impact of broken trust and would like to explore supportive, trauma-aware work at your own pace, you are welcome to book a free consultation to see whether this approach feels right for you.

We all experience stress and worry from time to time. But when anxiety or daily pressures start to feel overwhelming, it can take a toll on your health, relationships, and overall wellbeing. If you’ve ever wondered whether hypnotherapy could help, you’re not alone.

Despite its reputation in stage shows and TV dramas, hypnotherapy isn’t about mind control or “clucking like a chicken.” It’s a safe, evidence-based therapy that works with the subconscious mind to create real, lasting change.

What Is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that uses relaxation and focused attention to access the subconscious mind – the part of us where habits, beliefs, and emotional patterns live.

When you’re in this deeply relaxed state (similar to daydreaming), your mind becomes more open to positive suggestions and new ways of thinking. That’s what makes hypnotherapy such a powerful tool for emotional healing and personal growth.

Hypnotherapy for Anxiety

Anxiety often comes from learned patterns of thought; worrying about the future, replaying the past, or bracing for the worst. Because these patterns are held in the subconscious, willpower alone isn’t always enough to change them.

Hypnotherapy helps by:

Calming the nervous system and reducing physical symptoms of anxiety

Releasing subconscious fears and beliefs that fuel worry

Replacing negative thought loops with healthier, more balanced responses

Building confidence and inner resilience

For many people, hypnotherapy feels like pressing the “reset” button on an overworked mind.

Stress Relief Therapy

Chronic stress impacts the body as well as the mind, contributing to fatigue, sleep problems, headaches, and even illness.

Hypnotherapy supports stress relief by:

Teaching the mind and body how to deeply relax

Helping release emotional tension that builds up over time

Supporting healthier coping strategies for daily challenges

Instead of just managing symptoms, hypnotherapy can address the root causes of stress for long-term relief.

Everyday Struggles Hypnotherapy Can Help With

Beyond anxiety and stress, hypnotherapy is also used to support a wide range of everyday struggles, such as:

Improving sleep

Boosting self-esteem

Breaking habits (smoking, overeating, nail-biting)

Increasing motivation and focus

Reducing fears and phobias

By working with the subconscious mind, hypnotherapy can help remove barriers that hold you back and create positive change that lasts.

The Benefits of Hypnotherapy

The biggest benefit of hypnotherapy is that it empowers you. Instead of feeling stuck in cycles of worry, stress, or unhelpful habits, you can:

Feel calmer and more in control

Gain new perspectives and coping tools

Improve both emotional and physical wellbeing

Create changes that feel natural and sustainable

Take the First Step

If anxiety, stress, or everyday struggles are holding you back, hypnotherapy could be the key to finding more balance and peace.
To discover how hypnotherapy can support you, book your first free consultation today (link to contact us page).
